This initially wasn't going to be on the album, but I had a creative writing project that I used as an excuse to write this. I put it on because other tracks I was planning to complete I threw out. I didn't know how to finish those.
lyrics
Come my people; I shall lead you to freedom.
Come my people; I shall lead you to new land.
Come my people; I shall ease your tired hands.
Come my people; come my people.
Ah!
Here it starts, not a moment too late.
Here it starts, with the fall of the gate.
Here I stand, with my blades in each hand.
And here I go on, ready to make them stand.
"You've got ten hours till it closes, Mara."
I'm a loaded gun with no way for mistakes.
I shall free your sick and your poor and your starved.
So come my people, I'm your liberator.
The water is long gone here
The outside is a lost cause.
So they say, but I won't take it
Not 'til they lay down their laws!
Yet there is water, and there is life
Outside, admittedly far...
Yet there is water, and there is life
I shall take you there, however far!
And here I stand before the man
Who oppressed them from long ago
And here I stand before the man
Who shall die tonight by my sword!
Let freedom ring!
Come my people; I shall lead you to freedom.
Come my people; I shall lead you to new land.
Come my people; I shall ease your tired hands.
Come my people; come my people.
Ah!
